Our 5th graders have been on such a beautiful journey observing the butterfly life cycle right in our classroom! From tiny caterpillars, to pupa/chrysalises, and finally to stunning butterflies. Students had the incredible opportunity to witness each stage up close.

Today, our butterflies were sent off to the zoo for a special Earth Day event happening this Saturday, where they will be released into the world. πŸŒŽπŸ’š Such a meaningful and memorable experience for our students!

This hands-on learning moment was not only exciting, but also a wonderful way to bring a little extra joy and good luck as students watched their butterflies emerge. Truly magical! ✨

✈️ Yesterday, we had some very special visitors in our classroom!

Pilots came to speak with our students and encouraged everyone to give their absolute best on upcoming tests and in all their schoolwork. They shared what it’s like to fly incredible aircraft like the MQ-9 and F-16, and talked about the academic journey that helped them reach their goals.

Our students learned that working hard throughout all their school years truly matters. It plays a big role in college applications, getting into their dream universities, and opening doors to exciting careers in the future. 🌟

The message was clear: your effort today can help launch you toward amazing opportunities tomorrow. Let’s keep pushing, stay focused, and aim high! πŸš€

That means tomorrow, our amazing staff will be rocking some pretty awesome (and possibly hilarious) tattoos all day long! πŸ’ͺ🎨

Students at Holloman Elementary will get a chance to β€œtattoo” a staff member of their choice! πŸ’–

Here’s how it works:

Upon school drop-off, students will receive 3 tattoos.
They will choose which staff member(s) they want to β€œtattoo.”
Place the tattoo(s) inside the ziplock bag with the staff’s picture taped on it.
Voting will happen at the Library / LEGO Windows inside the school.

Students can choose 1 staff member or up to 3 different staff members. The more, the merrier! Let’s have fun celebrating Be Here Day together! 🎨✨

🌼April’s Be Here Alamo theme is Be Here & Bloom, reminding us that students grow a little more each day they are present, engaged, and ready to learn.

With state assessments taking place this month, consistent attendance helps students feel confident, prepared, and supported. Just as important as being present is being on time. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instructions and disrupt the start of their day.

Campuses open early each morning and offer free breakfast to all students. πŸ₯ž Arriving early can help families avoid drop-off traffic, allow students to enjoy breakfast with their peers, and help them start the day in a calm, positive way. A Be Here & Bloom On-time Student Tracking Chart is available for families to download, and teachers have a classroom version available.
