❄️APS Families, We’re closely monitoring the weather forecast for this week and will notify you of any changes through our usual channels. If you are not receiving district notifications, please log into PowerSchool and make sure your contact information is up to date and notifications are turned on.
🥶As temperatures begin to drop be prepared. Wearing layers, a hat, a winter coat, and gloves can help. If your child does not have winter clothing and you need help please call our H.O.P.E. team at 575-430-0191.
Here are some additional tips:
✅Avoid standing in the cold.
✅Drive your child to school if possible.
✅Have them wait in your car until the bus arrives.
🚌 If you have questions about your student’s bus route and whether it is running on time, please log into your My Ride K-12 app or call Let's Talk at 575-812-8573.

Please be aware that in honor of the passing of President Carter, the White House has appointed January 9, 2025 as a National Day of Mourning. Per Executive Order, Executive Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government will not be reporting to work on that day, but schools will be in session on the base and throughout the APS District. 🎒

APS Student Nutrition will distribute Winter Break Meals at Alamogordo High School tomorrow, Saturday, December 21st, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please enter on Tiger Drive, off 1st St. 👶🧒
Meals are for all children ages 1–18. The child does not need to be present. Each child will receive 10 breakfasts and 10 lunches. These are stable, snack-like, five-component meals. 🎒👜🥯

participate in collecting new books and pajamas to benefit COPE Center of Protective Environment of Alamogordo. 📚👖👕
📦Boxes will be available in the Administration Building (1211 Hawaii Ave) and other locations from December 2 to December 13, 2024. COPE is also in need of new batteries, pet supplies, pillows, towels, and laundry detergent. Monetary donations can be made out to Center of Protective Environment of Alamogordo.💗💗

Did you know? 🚌
On the 80th & 120th day of school, APS captures a snapshot of the bus ridership to report to NMPED. The information collected on this day is very important and impacts the funding our district receives for transportation. Transportation funding not only supports students' daily rides to and from school, it can also support in-district school field trips.
On Monday, December 2nd, if your child is a bus rider please help us provide an accurate count by having them ride the bus. Thank you and see you soon!
